We dream of a church where engaging
worship
takes place amongst an enthusiastic family of believers.
Our worship will be
centered in the gifts God offers us in Word and scarament through a
variety of music and liturgies. We will draw from the best of the musical
offerings of God's people past and present, and make creative use of
the many talents of our members. Through our worship, more and more
of our members encounter the living Christ on a weekly basis and will
be genuinely welcomed to His House.
We dream of a church where discipleship is a
"whole life" attitude.
We will be members who
make faith formation a priority from the cradle to the grave. We will be
growing in our understnanding of the important role family and home play in the
process. We believe our members can be bold, courageous, and joyful in the
giving of their time, talents, and treasures - people who step out in faith and
give of themselves in a way that challenges our Lord's promise to provide for
our every need.
We dream of a church where creative and intentional outreach
will naturally occur through all members through our witness and service to the
community.
Our church will
have an active presence in the community. We will be willing to step out in
faith to touch people's lives by the Gospel. We will show true
hospitality to all as we serve side by side in mission work and servant
events beginning in Olivette and extending throughout the world.
We dream of a church that will intentionally care for
its members.
We will share in both
the burdens and the joys of our brothers and sisters in Christ by praying
and supporting one another in times of need and celebrating in times of
happiness. We will be a church where each member is connected to others in
meaningful relationship and ministry.
We dream of a church that strives to support its
worship and ministry.
We will enrich our worship,
discipleship, outreach, and care for each other through effective
administration and support staff, and through the technology and systems
necessary to make a positive difference in our changing world. Our facilities
will be kept and utilized in a way that is consistent with the high purposes
for which they are used.
