The
world is a big place. That means our Lord’s commission to “go and make
disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) is a big commission! Few of us are
able to pack up and “go” in the way that a missionary does, but there are many
other ways to be a part of the mission: prayer, monetary gifts and support,
provisions for schools or farming. And on occasion, a mission trip to disaster
areas nationally or to countries overseas may be used by God to share the
Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who have not yet heard.
We at
Immanuel believe that “God so loved the
world” that He gave His one and only Son (John 3:16), and so we take
His commission seriously. The World
Mission Team aims to keep us aware of the possibilities that God has placed
before us to take the message of salvation “to the ends of the earth.”
